After-School Arts Club

As part of his Creating Communities organization, Rob Levit, local award-winning jazz musician and artist, brought this program to Eastport United Methodist Church.  It is offered to 30 students every Wednesday from 4 to 5 p.m. when public schools are in session.  An instructor, three volunteers, and occasional visiting artists work with the students on projects that are based on Harvard Project Zero Thinking Routines and the Common Core Standards.  All students reside in low-income housing.

EUMC members, Anne Owen and Ann Rawls, have assumed the lead for this weekly program and they can always use volunteer helpers.  No experience is necessary, just a desire to help make a difference in the lives of our neighborhood children.  Call the church office at 410-263-5490 to volunteer.
